PHIL PICKENS
Indie Folk Rock
New Single • "Lovesick"
Out August 28th, 2026
Phil Pickens writes songs that find meaning in ordinary moments. Raised outside Atlanta and now based in New York City, the indie folk-rock songwriter pairs poetic storytelling with warm, organic arrangements that linger long after the final note. Reuniting with producer James Frazee, he approached Caution to the Wind with patience, building it from the ground up. Beginning with the rhythm section, the album was tracked live, favoring feel over polish and allowing the songs to breathe. Rolling out across two sides, Caution to the Wind moves between memory, relationships, longing, and quiet forward motion, capturing the complicated ways we hold onto the past while continuing to move ahead.
Focus Track: “Lovesick”
Release Date: August 28th, 2026
“Lovesick” is a love song disguised as a sick day — a feverish little anthem about the physical symptoms of falling hard for someone. Shivers, shakes, body aches, a rising temperature — the song treats the sudden rush of falling in love like an actual illness. When love hits like an illness, there’s only one thing to do: stay home.
Beneath the playful premise is something more tender: the helplessness of falling in love and the instinct to take care of the person you love.
