PHIL PICKENS
Indie Folk Rock
New Single • "Perfect Work of Art"
Out July 17, 2026
Phil Pickens writes songs that find meaning in ordinary moments. Raised outside Atlanta and now based in New York City, the indie folk-rock songwriter pairs poetic storytelling with warm, organic arrangements that linger long after the final note. Reuniting with producer James Frazee, he approached the record with patience, building it from the ground up. Beginning with the rhythm section, the album was tracked live, favoring feel over polish and allowing the songs to breathe. Once the foundation was laid, friends helped raise the walls. Rolling out over the next year, Caution to the Wind moves from the nostalgic corridors of Gwinnett Mall to the steadfast devotion of Perfect Work of Art and the hard-won commitment of Walk Away, grounding its reflections on memory, resilience, and quiet forward motion.
